Veterans

In partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs, NHPCO offers programs and services focused on improving the quality of hospice and palliative care for Veterans and their families in communities across the US.

We Honor Veterans is a nationwide program providing technical assistance and program development recommendations aimed at strengthening the relationships between community hospice agencies and VA facilities to improve Veterans’ access to hospice and palliative care.

By recognizing the unique needs of our nation’s Veterans who are facing a life-limiting illness, providers accompany and guide Veterans and their families toward a more peaceful ending. And in cases where there might be some specific needs related to the Veteran’s military service, combat experience or other traumatic events, We Honor Veterans provides tools and resources to help support those they are caring for.
