Honoring J. Donald Schumacher, PsyD
Gifts totaling over $38,000 have been made in honor of Don, a man who has dedicated his life to the work that we all share. THANK YOU for your support.
J. Donald Schumacher announced in March that he will retire from his position at NHPCO at the end of 2016. Unfortunately the time has come for Don to retire. Thanks to generous donors and friends, Don will be able to leave a legacy to continue the work of NHPCO.
Don has designated these funds to pediatric palliative and hospice care, supporting complex needs of children with life-limiting conditions. These conditions can put enormous pressure on families, caregivers and siblings. NHPCO is committed to improving access to hospice and palliative care for children and their families.
Don believes there is more that can be done. He CHALLENGES YOU to give a donation in his honor to help us reach $50,000 by the end of the year! Remember, many small gifts can make a huge difference.
Thank you to the friends that shared stories and wished Don well into his retirement. We have presented him with a keepsake book from you, our members, and kept one at NHPCO. It is available to view below.
